Battle of Otterburn: Conflict in a Landscape launch event

We are holding a free event about the Battle of Otterburn on Sunday 24th June at the RTC Sports & Leisure Centre in Otterburn, from 2.00-4.30pm. The event is to mark the launch of an exciting new Heritage Lottery-funded project that will investigate and explore the story of this famous medieval battle.

The event will include talks by representatives from Revitalising Redesdale, the Battlefields Trust and Northumberland National Park and a guided walk to the Battlefield site. There will also be the chance to find out how to get involved in this project, which will include opportunities for volunteers to take part in historical research and investigative fieldwork, including metal detecting and archaeological excavation.

To book a place or to find out more information, please contact Karen Collins, Revitalising Redesdale Heritage and Engagement Officer, on 07741 194309 or email karen.collins@nnpa.org.uk.
