‘Lost Redesdale’ Community Archaeology Project invites you to take part in a detailed survey of a possible medieval farmstead settlement on Rattenraw Farm, in preparation for possible excavation next year.
No previous experience is required as all necessary training will be provided. There will be opportunities to learn how to use a theodolite to measure and record the settlement and create archaeological plan drawings.
The survey will be led by experienced members of Tynedale North of the Wall Archaeology Group.
This event will run on Sunday 26th May, Monday 27th May, and Tuesday 28th May. You can attend all three days if you wish, or just come along to one or two if you can’t commit to more than that.
This is a FREE Revitalising Redesdale event, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
