Photography Walks in Redesdale – Saturday 6th November 2021: Hindhope Linn & Three Kings

The fantastic Christine Woodcock of White Oak Studios is running regular photography walks in Redesdale throughout the year. Four locations within beautiful and rugged Redesdale have been carefully chosen and will be revisited throughout the changing seasons.  Walkers and photography beginners or enthusiasts alike are invited to attend one or more walks to photograph the landscape, flora and fauna. Booking is essential and tickets are £10. Concessions are available on request.

Saturday 6th November 2021: Hindhope Linn & Three Kings

This route of around 4 miles takes in two spectacles, Hindhope Linn & Three Kings, that lie in an area of Kielder/Redesdale forest close to the A68 nr Byrness.
The Three Kings ancient stone circle sits high on the hill and affords wonderful views of the Pennines. The linn (a very pretty waterfall) can be found slightly off the beaten path in a magical dell of mosses, lichen and tall evergreens. We will take a gentle walk at an easy pace, stopping to take photos along the way. Suitable for beginners or more experienced photographers but you don’t need a camera, you can use your phone.

Meeting at 3pm at the car park at Blakehopeburnhaugh. This is close to the A68, follow the signs for Kielder Forest Drive. The car park is situated on the Pennine Way, part of which makes up our route.

Booking essential as places are limited.
Distance: approximately 4 miles
Duration: approximately 3 hours
Difficulty: Moderate, a reasonably long route (although as it is in two parts you would have the option to only do one section if you prefer) with uphill sections, parts of the woodland section are narrow, slippery and uneven, be aware that in one area the path passes close to the top of the ravine.
