Friends of Corsenside offer a 2-day scything course with Steve Tomlin. Come and learn to scythe and join us as we care for the wildflower meadows in this ancient and beautiful churchyard.
Scything is a gentle, non-impact exercise, suitable for all ages, enabling you mow grass for hay and cut weeds, brambles, rushes or small scrub. No more ear defenders, visor, strimmer fumes and noise – just the sound of birds and the swish of your blade!
This course is for beginners and will teach you to set up a scythe to fit your body, how to sharpen a blade in the field and how to care for and maintain scything equipment.
This course is free, however we hope participants will use their new skills with Friends of Corsenside. Find out more at www.revitalisingredesdale.org.uk/get-involved/friends-of-corsenside/
This course is now fully booked, but please email friendsofcorsenside@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the waiting list.
