Join the Battlefields Trust, Revitalising Redesdale Team and Partners for a day of talks, music, ballads, swordplay and battle kit demos, historic forestry vehicles, drop in activities, refreshments, Revitalising Redesdale Partner stands and a guided walk to the battlefield area to celebrate the end of 3.5 years research and investigations into the Battle of Otterburn.
No need to book just drop in for part or the whole of the day.
Sorry dogs are not allowed at the venue apart from assistance dogs.
Outline programme:
10am – refreshments available, Revitalising Redesdale and Partners’ information stands
10.30 – 12.45 – a series of talks about the research and archaeological findings from the last 3 years of investigations into the Battle of Otterburn – ‘what really happened’?
12.45 – 1.45 – lunchbreak, info stands, music & the Ballad of Otterburn
1.45 – 2.15 – sword and battle kit demos by Time Bandits and the Battlefield Trust
2.30 – Guided walk to the battlefield site departs from the Rede, Tyne & Coquet Sports & Leisure Centre (stout shoes, warm and wet weather clothing recommended). Approximately 2 mile walk.
4pm – Guided walk returns & event ends.
