Discover dark skies and local wildlife folklore; seek denizens of the dark with a nocturnal stroll and wildlife surveying equipment.
Note: This event is spread over 2 days: Friday 27th March 7pm–10pm AND Saturday 28th March 9am–10.45am
Explore wildlife in the dark with a night-time woodland walk, moth trapping and a demonstration of thermal imaging kit. Find out what you can see in the Redesdale night sky in our stargazing workshop (all equipment and instruction provided). Learn how lighting can affect wildlife and what you can do to reduce your impact. The following morning we will discover what wildlife our traps and cameras have recorded overnight.
Please bring a torch (with a red-light setting if possible), suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
Booking is essential. This event is suitable for ages 11+. All persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please.
