The Ridsdale Community Group was awarded £2,162 towards the development of a community garden at The Gun Inn.
The funds were used to purchase hard-wearing garden furniture to maximise the use of outside socialising space, including two wheelchair-friendly tables to ensure it is as accessible as possible.
“The grant has allowed us to increase our capacity for visitors in these strange times. This is extremely important for our more vulnerable members of the community who will prefer to remain outside whilst also freeing up space inside.
Our garden has fantastic views over the hills and the tables with the large parasols will allow visitors to remain in the garden if there is a brief shower. The two tables with extended tops will allow wheelchair users to sit comfortably at them.
We envisage that this outside space will develop over time as needs changes and the solid furniture will be able to moved around as necessary. These developments would not have been possible without the grant – thank you.”

We look forward to seeing you in the garden for a cuppa in the near future!
